MCMINNVILLE
CITY
COUNCIL MEETING Tuesday, April 22, 7:30 at School District Office. Movie date was changed because of conflict with City Council meeting Tuesday evening during which the Big Box design ordinance will be discussed. Discussion regarding need for as many as possible to be at that meeting in order to support Cool Mac’s additions to the ordinance, including Dark Sky lighting and 50% shade coverage of parking lot with trees. City Council passed the ordinance with a modification in the 50% shade coverage that was deemed more workable and practical. Still in place is a requirement which will provide one non columnar tree per 6 parking spaces.
STEERING COMMITTEE DECISION MAKING:
It was decided that in the future any decisions regarding events coming up that involve Cool Mac should be agreed upon by simple majority of the Steering Committee Members. Discussion about re-organization and possibly assigning Chair for Cool Mac and Event Coordinators for future events.
TURKEYRAMA:
Agreed that we should have a booth or share with someone. Wendy will submit application and make contacts. Update: Wendy got the invoice for the Cool Mac booth at Turkey Rama and talked with Linda Hays from Hopscotch (Buy Local). She would be interested in sharing a booth.
FARMER’S MARKET:
Linda will check availability of booth or share booth with Soil and Water.
BROCHURE/BOOKLET
: Wendy will contact Rachel to see if we can get a correctable version of our Brochure to get ready for the Farmer’s Market and Turkeyrama.
NONPROFIT STATUS
: John has been in contact with organization called 3E (Equity Environment Energy) that we might be able to piggyback as nonprofit.
