Focus of our next meeting is on building Cool Mac into an official nonprofit organization. This will include working on a proposal to present to 3E Strategies (see website in column to the right) asking them to be a “parent” organization.
Momentum is building in our communities to become more sustainable. Cool Mac is excited about the future. Plese join us as we strive to help McMinnville and the surrounding communities reach their goals to reduce their carbon footprint.
We will meet this Saturday, July 19, to brainstorm ideas, so please join us if you have some ideas you’d like to contribute. We meet at First Baptist Church, the Fireside Room at 9:30 a.m. Enter at the Fellowship Hall entrance on Cowls Street. It’s a wonderful cozy setting. See you there!

Hello all you Cool Mac supporters!
Our Cool Mac booth at the Downtown Festival at Turkeyrama was a success. Lots of folks signed our pledge and asked about NW Earth Institute and how they could help Keep Mac Cool! Hope some of you had a chance to drop by to see our setup. The hand fans were very popular, especially with the kids. We asked the young folk to come up with some original ideas to be added to the pledge. We got an amazing response, some of which will be posted on the web site. Lots of families are already doing the pledge list, which is a wonderful thing! Now we need to incorporate some even more challenging ways to conserve.
Many thanks to those who worked hard in the preparation, assembling, and manning our Cool Mac booth. Because of those efforts, many more
McMinnville and other Yamhill County people now know who we are and what we are doing. I saw lots of “thumbs up” when the display of the Resolution to join ICLEI from the City Council was explained. People were really anxious to learn what they could do!
