Oregon Interfaith Power and Lights presents two workshops: “Save Your Congregation Energy & Money” –
Main speaker is Doug Boleyn, PE, Energy Consultatnt for Oregon Interfaith Power and Light. He has over 30 years experience in energy conservation and renewable energy, including previous work for Portland General Electric and Bonneville Power Administration. Doug is currently owner and President of Cascade Solar Consulting, serves on the board of the Solar Energy Assoc. of Oregon, and serves on the renewable advisory committee of Energy Trust of Oregon. The 1st workshop is a consultation on energy stewardship for congregations, facility managers, clergy, and building committee members.
AGENDA:
- Opening reflection.
- Introduction, lunch served.
- Key principles of energy stewardship.
- Building operations; low-cost, no-cost measures to save energy and money, troubleshooting record keeping.
- Energy Audit – Important energy savings opportunities to look for in your congregation.
·The 2nd worship is a dynamic workshop empowering individuals and congregations to save energy, money, and the earth.

- How your congregation or household can achieve a net zero carbon footprint.
- Improving your quality of life through energy efficiency and conservation
- The ethics of energy stewardship.
- Renewable energy options.
- Incentives and tax credits available.
- Plan of actions for your congregation or home.
Registration deadline is Sept 25 (accepted at door if room available). $15 per workshop; $25 for both. Youth are free. Light meal and materials included. Scholarhsips available.
